We have a variety of cutting processes to achieve the best possible cut. We utilise a Horizontal Band Saw for our large beam and hollow section cutting, this can cut 45 degrees through to 90 degrees. Smaller sections are cut with Cold Saws. Flat bars up to 16mm thick are cut with a Cropper and larger flat bars are cut with the Oxy or a Quicke.

We will also ‘cut while you wait’, for small orders.

Whether your requirements are for a couple of steel beams, a handful of steel posts, a staircase or a major project with multiple structural steel members, General Steel has the experience, skills and resources to fulfil your needs.

For all fabrication enquiries we will provide a detailed quotation which will outline a breakdown of the project costs. We endeavour to provide prompt lead times for workshop drawings, fabrication and installation.

Residential Fabrication Process:

1. Come in and see us, phone us or email us with your plans, sketches or idea
2. We provide you with a detailed quote of the job
3. We order materials while drafting is being completed
4. Completed drawings will be sent to you for approval and a site visit organised if necessary
5. The magic of our fabrication work begins
6. Depending on the finish required we will prime in-house or send out for blast and paint or galvanising
7. We inspect finishes before delivery
8. Installation/site welding can be arranged on a job by job basis
